Here's the Skinny

Well I have determined that I guess I'm just going to have a skinny child. We went to our baby well check for our 9 month check up a couple of weeks ago and we weigh 19.5 (this means we are only in the 25th percentile for weight and 20th percentile for height) The doctor of course was not concerned at all being that we gained 2 lbs since last visit for our 6 month check up. Dr. Neal (Grant's pediatrician) stated "you aren't going to have a Michelin Tire baby....it just isn't in the cards) but that this was a good thing and that his weight was still very much in the normal range.

Also we are in the market for a mini van. We decided we needed this more than anything at this point in our lives and we are tired of traveling literally on top of one another being that both sides of our family are out of town and don't live close enough for us to "rough" it anymore. So Brian has been doing some heavy negotiating with our local Honda dealership and Toyota dealership. We are leaning more towards the Honda Odyssey (consumer reports rates this van as well as the Toyota Sienna as the number one family vans of choice......and they are both very nice.) I never thought I would drive a mini van but at this point comfort and room for the family is priority and far outweighs anything else at this point. I don't know what I am going to do having so much room will definately spoil us but we are ALL looking forward to it. Maybe in a few days I will have some good news and show you a picture (if all goes well with Brian and Richard Peacock at the Honda dealership). We figure we are only going to grow the family in the future and we mize well make the plunge now while dealerships are willing to negotiate at some low low prices due to the economy.

Giggles and Laughs

We had our Gigglebox turned upside down. I hope this brings a laugh out loud.......

Here Fishy....Fishy....Fishy

Well we decided to go to the Tennessee Aquarium a couple of weeks ago and well Grant was GREAT! I was surprised at how captivated he was and didn't lose total attention to what was in front of him. Of course these fish are "nuclear fish" they are about 5 times the size of Grant and all of them found in the Tennessee River.....makes you wonder what else is out there!

Our Hiding Spot

Well Grant has decided that he has found a new hiding spot.......we cannot keep him away from this spot as he insists on crawling to it EVERYTIME he is on the floor. It must be pretty secretive because he is really hard to find when he crawls in this spot. (lol)

We are "CROLLING"!

Well yes you heard it right we are "crolling"! This is a Brittneyism that means partly crawling and partly rolling so we put the words together and you get ......CROLLING. So yes we are doing both very very well......we can now sit up on our own and also sit up from a laying down position. We have two front teeth (on top) now breaking through (one is already in) and our two bottom teeth are already in. Grant is still babbling and talking his little baby talk .....he of course knows what he is saying.....he is still VERY LOUD....and likes to make A LOT OF NOISE! Yes we have had his ears checked and his ears look great....he just like to hear himself. He is looking more and more like a little boy and not a baby anymore (this makes me sad). We have now had to officially move our coffee table behind the couch so that Grant cannot get underneath it (we are so afraid he is going to hit his head or break out his new teeth on the bars underneath the coffee table). Grant is also pulling himself up.....he has mastered this in his crib.....the recliner......and my knee (lol). He is growing up so fast and I can't hardly believe it. He is slowly becoming more of a pickier eater (because Gerber puree'd baby food just doesn't all taste the same folks).

Onto some other news Rachael made Brown Middle School's Cheer SQUAD !!!!!!!! She told us on Friday (try out day) that she had messed up on the dance a little bit (then later started crying at try outs) Her Cheer Mom who's name is (Coach Nanny) called me after try outs and let me know that she felt so sorry for Rachael because she was crying after the dance to make sure and at least let me know that she made it (but to keep this a secret from Rachael). So later we went to the school and I acted surprised when her number was posted on the door to let her know she made the squad....she was excited......she was in good spirits as we called everyone we knew and headed to the lock in at church.

More Pictures of the accident

Good Friday not so Good

Well our Good Friday wasn't so good. We had an accident and well crashed into the side of a guard rail while our car was spun completely out of control in the middle of I-24 heading to Illinois for Easter weekend to see my folks. Everyone seems to be ok.....just a little shaken up. I believe that there is a reason why "some" things happen. This is one of those things that I believe there was a reason God has intended. There were tornados all around us today....just 10miles from where we crashed there was a tornado in Altamont that swept through the middle of the interstate (the same interstate we were traveling on and about the same time we would have been passing through this blink of an eye teeny tiny town).....Murfreesboro.....same thing....tornados hit this afternoon and tore up Murfreesboro during about the same time we would have been passing through there.....I know someone was watching out for us today......and messed up car is nothing compared to what could have happened or falling off a cliff (you will notice where we are in relation to the guard rail and the cliff). God is SO real....and he has blessed me and my family today on the same day he was crucified and nailed to the cross. Coincidence......I know it wasn't.

Another clip of the Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny Experience

Well today we went and visited the Easter Bunny at the mall. This is the first day in several days where we haven't had any rainy weather and it is 72 degrees outside....so of course we had to go have some fun. Lots of babies at the mall today getting their pictures made. As you will notice in this clip he isn't smiling...and we didn't get a smile for the camera either...he was a little sleepy and so Grant plus sleepy equals what you get is what you get (ha ha). We had fun though....I think he was more interested in the Easter Bunny's white gloves. I also found out today that even though there is a speaker section located in the Easter Bunny's mouth...the Easter Bunny doesn't talk.....I asked of course the question "Why is that?" and the response from the picture lady was "it's because the Easter Bunny isn't supposed to talk." ....makes sense...I guess the Easter Bunny doesn't talk does he?
